2023 SSSL - Summer High School League
Format: 11v11
Coaches: A single representative must be identified for each team. This representative will be responsible to register the team and will be the single point of contact for the team regarding scheduling, uniforms, discipline or other matters. This representative does not need to be the adult at each game. A Responsible adult (21 yrs or older) MUST be present for each game.
Registration: Check our website for the registration process. Each team will register as a team in the appropriate division and gender when applicable.
· The cost per team will be $895 – registration deadline will be April 28th.
· $100 Deposit to hold a team slot while players are registered.
Dates: The season will run from the last week of July and end August 15th. (rain out game date TBD if necessary)
Game Schedule: schedule depending on # of teams registered.
· Minimum of 7 games per team
· 28 min halves, 2 min halftime break
· We will either have 2 Divisions or One Conference (Varsity and JV divisions if possible)
· Games will be played at 5:00, 6:00, 7:00
WEATHER/CANCELLATIONS: We will do our best to make up any games canceled due to weather, but it is not guaranteed, and no refunds will be given due to mother nature.
SCORING: 3 Points for Win, 1 point for Tie....Tie Breakers: Head-to-Head if possible then Goals Against, then Goals For, Then Goal Differential
Fields: 4 Fields. Two Turf and Two Grass Fields – teams will play on all four fields on a rotating basis.
Referees: Single Referee per game. SSSL will provide USSF Certified Refs
Equipment: goals will be provided; fields will be lined, and game ball supplied
Uniforms: Each team is responsible for wearing at minimum a Unified Jersey/T-Shirt each contest. Each player MUST have the appropriate team jersey to take the field. Consider the jersey as the ticket to enter the field. The refs will be instructed that players without the proper uniform are not eligible to play. No exceptions.
Eligibility:
1. All players must be enrolled in high school for the 2023-2024 school year. NO COLLEGE PLAYERS or HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES
2. Each team must have a minimum of eleven (11) players and there is no maximum.
3. Teams using ineligible players may result in team suspensions or other disciplinary actions as deemed necessary by the League Director – including being dropped from the league without refund. Use the “honor” system.
4. All coaches must hand in waiver forms for all players before stepping on the field. The coach is responsible for handing in a roster along with signed waiver forms for each player on the roster and advise all players and parents.
Playing Rules:
1. Team on the field shall consist of eleven (11) players (including the goalie). Minimum number of players to start and continue a game is eight (8).
2. We will abide by NFHS rules and regulations. However, you may substitute on any stoppage!!!
3. Start of play: the opposing team must stand a minimum of 5 yards away on their half of the field. Restarts do not have to go forward.
4. Unlimited substitutions on a dead ball for either team. No subs “on the fly”. Substitutes must have the referee’s permission before stepping onto the field.
5. One referee per game will be used.
6. Games will consist of two twenty-eight-minute halves with a two-minute rest period between halves. The official time will be kept by the referee.
7. Game time is starting time and the clock will run as scheduled. No grace periods. A forfeit occurs after the game clock runs for fifteen (15) minutes and one or both teams are unable to field a minimum of nine players.
8. Running clock – no stoppage of game clock for any reason (including injuries).
9. Tie game remains a tie.
10. Any team may use a rostered player(s) from another team ONLY if there will be a forfeit otherwise.
11. This is a PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK league. All coaches must hand in waiver forms for all players before stepping on the field. The coach is responsible for handing in a roster along with signed waiver forms for each player on the roster and advise all players and parents. There is no secondary insurance.
Equipment:
1. Unified Team Jerseys or T shirts are mandatory. Please do your best to have a set of similar shirts.
2. Appropriate outdoor soccer cleats or shoes are required. No metal spikes.
3. Shin-guards are mandatory and must be covered. All players on the field must wear shin guards.
4. Players without proper equipment will be sent off to correct the problem and cannot return until the referee is satisfied.
5. NFHS earing rule applies.

2. In case of severe and advance inclement weather, coaches will be notified as early as possible by a league representative.
3. Games cancelled due to weather, or reasons outside of the League’s control, are not subject to refunds and are not guaranteed to be rescheduled.
4. ONLY players and coaches are allowed on the turf/field. ALL spectators must be in stands or the opposite side of the field. NO spectators are allowed on the field or the sidelines. Unless a volunteer flagman.
